Where is Canlaon City?
Canlaon City is a 4th class city in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 46,548 people in 9,302 households. Canlaon is located 168 km from the provincial capital Dumaguete. It is bordered on the east by Vallehermoso and on the south by Guihulngan. Canlaon is home to the highest peak in the province, Canlaon Volcano, which is 2,465 meters above sea level at its highest point. Canlaon City, situated on the eastern side of Mt. Canlaon, in the province of Negros Oriental, is politically bounded on the north by San Carlos Cadastre, Cad-149-D, Province of Negros Occidental, on the east by Vallehermoso Cadastre, Cad-433-D, Province of Negros Oriental, on the west by the Municipality of La Castellana, Cad-60 and Pontevedra Cadastre, Cad-62, Province of Negros Occidental and on the south by the Municipality of Guihulngan, Cad-421-D, Province of Negros Oriental. The City center is 38 kilometers away from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, 50 kilometers from Guihulngan, 20 kilometers from Vallehermoso, 102 kilometers from Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental (taking the cross-island country road traversing Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental via Canlaon City) and 166 kilometers from Dumaguete City, the capital of Negros Oriental. Situated on the eastern side of Mt. Canlaon,

on the east by Vallehermoso,

The city is 38 kms. from San Carlos City; 50 kms. from Guihulngan; 33 kms. from La Castellana;
167 kms. from Dumaguete City and 12.092 kms. from the provincial boundary.
With a total land area of 160.7 sq. km.. Canlaon City is comprised of 13 barangays.
Mt. Canlaon National Park covers 24,577 hectares while the mountain rises at 8,050 ft.
